2003 Accord Ex v6 auto, no check engine light. Transmission shifts into 2nd fine, but right when it shifts into 3rd it slipps, and revs. if i let off the gas, and wait for it to go to 1k rmp, i can lightly push the gas and it will shift fine back into 3rd and drive smoothly. if i floor it after the 3rd gear slip, it lurches forward like its struggling to drive. (so obviously i dont floor it). when it gets hot after a lot of driving, it gets worse. i dont want to get a whole new transmission if i dont need to. HELP!! (fluid levels are fine, no burning) also there is no burning smell and no weird noise. i just have to drive like a grandma.

 

How many miles? What do you know about the trans fluid changes done to the car?

I'm not a trans expert so someone else might chime in, have your taken it to a trans shop to "see what they say"?

 

Have you used the new DW-1 transmission fluid? I would do one drain and fill, to see if anything improves.
Get an expert opinion, but usually by the time they start slipping, it's too late to save it. Good luck.

 

146,000 miles, regular maintenance done. not sure about the transmission fluid replacement but fluid was checked by a pro and they said it was fine. "experts" aka good ol' boys at the couple of transmission shops i went to said i need a new tranny. thats all they say. one guys said its my "clutch packs" (???) and said i just need a new tranny.

 

There are a bunch of Honda/Acura with relatively similar problems. Most talk about changing the 3rd and 4th pressure switches and a few other things, which may or may not fix the problem. Here is one thread, there are many more threads out there related to the pressure switch(s).
