Default Honda "Limp mode"

My car right now is driving in limp mode cause I still havent replaced the crank position sensor, just curious about the limp mode.

How does limp mode make the car run, besides limiting going over 3000 rpm's.

Does it burn more gas? cause I feel like ill fill up the tank and it will be gone super fast.

I also have a leaking water pump, will this make the car lose power if the water pump is leaking?

It runs rich to help protect the motor.

You should fix it asap

you will wish you did when that water pump seizes up, snapping your timing belt, and pushing your pistons into your valves.

I would not drive the car any further until it is repaired.
