2003 power steering pump install

Why are you replacing the power steering pump, is it because of a whining noise? If so, try replacing the o-ring to see if it goes away. See link for copy of TSB:

If you do need to replace the pump, see attached image. Remove the tension for the drive belt, by applying a wrench/socket to the auto-tensioner (IRRC, it should be a 13mm). Disconnect hose and then a few bolts...

If you're replacing with a re-manufactured pump, expect to transfer the pulley and the inlet pipe from the old pump to the new one. You should also replace both the inlet and outlet O-rings; they may come with the new pump.
Put some rags over the belt/pulleys beneath the pump to catch any fluid that could drip on them when you remove the P.S. lines.

Well pump is install and noise is still there. My power steering pumps shad fat and a ton of play in it and I'm very glad I replaced it. As for the noise mine did it at all times. Now I'm curious if it's something like the belt tensioner of the alternators pulley.

Don't run the 2003 4-cyl without a belt for more that a few moments. It drives the waterpump too. I realize we're mostly talking about the V-6, but some people might read this thread & not realize that.
My 2003 4-cyl got a noisy tensioner pulley while the PS pump was fine. So that's certainly a possibility. When I removed the belt, that pulley had a lot of wiggle to it.
