Wheel Stud Replacement
Hey everyone,
I'm back and this time I had a flat so I went to get new tires from Sears Auto. Well the tech cross threaded one of the lugnuts and told me it was my fault so now I am stuck replacing it myself. I have done research on this topic (and found lots of good info on here) but I still had a few questions and wanted to get approval on my steps. The car is a 2003 Accord LX 4 cyl 4 door
Procedure:
Take wheel off
Take brake caliper off
Take brake housing and pads off
Take rotor off (the screws on my rotor are stuck arg any help?)
(I've gotten this far then had to stop because of lack of a garage)
Take dust shield off
Move wheel hub to the point where there is a groove so I can pound out the stud
Pound the stud out using punch and hammer
Put new HONDA stud in and seat it using a open ended nut
Put everything back on in reverse order
Is that correct?
Is there really a groove on the 2003 accord that will allow me to do this or do I need to press out the bearing and get a new one because it gets in the way?
How do you get out stuck rotor screws?
How do you get out stuck caliper bolts?

It is a YouTube video describing how to do this.
I used a drill to drill off the head.
I don't know if you will have enough room to pound out the stud. You may have to remove the hub/bearing.

Do you need to get a new bearing? How difficult is it to replace? I've never done this before any DIY around?

Screws in the rotor, I have one of those "hammer" impacts.....has a bit at one end, the other end you hit with a hammer. Has always worked for me on getting those "set screws" out. Then add a little anti seize to them upon install.
Not sure on an 03 but the older gens do not require the bearing to be removed. With the caliper and braket out, spin the hub to get the bad stud where they mount and remove....
