Recommended Oil
recently purchased 91 honda accord with 100k + miles and its my first honda so i'm not familiar which weight of oil to use for example on my other vehicle i use 10W40 but i know thats way to heavy for this car, and if there's a recommended brand for hondas with over 100k miles. thanks.

if you reside in a cold climate winter ( teens and below) use 5w20 in winter 10w30 in summer ......mild winter climate you can go with 10w30 all year around,, any major brands will do,, key is to change oil + filter in 3000-3500 miles ,,buy regular oil,, no need to spend the extra money for more expensive oils,,

I agree with DH.
Although i do use Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic Blend in my Accord. It costs $17.50 for a 5 gallon jug at WalMart though so it really isn;t "expensive" in my opinion. Does it actually do anything better than regular oil? Probably not, but I started using it when I first bought the car and I don't want to switch.

Yeah i actually was using 10w30 in my Accord for a while but about a year ago I switched to 5w30. I'm in Mississippi and it gets very hot here, but 5w30 has been fine (and it's what Honda recommends.)
