Default 96 Accord OBD Connector Location and Question?

On my 96 Accord, where is the OBD connector? I looked under the drivers side kick panel, under the steering column, and could not find it anywhere.Do I need to remove something to see it?

That said,is the 96 fully OBD2 or OBD 1.5?(thats obd1 connector with obd2 set up)

I dont have a CEL but Im just asking for future ref.

I have a 95 GM van that has the OBD 1.5 and no one in any of the parts stores can scan it.They can only scan 96 and up OBD2 connector cars.

I used to have a snap on scanner that could but I sold it a while ago.I hope this Accord doesnt have that set up..if so Im gonna have to buy a scanner.I planned to,but did not want to right away.

Any info is appreciated! Thanks!

OBD2

It is behind the ashtray. Simply pull it out and you'll see it!

Also, why do you need to buy a scanner? Autozone and a few other places will read the code for you for free!

Thanks for your info! About buying a scanner,I had planned to buy a new one for all my cars, but I wanted to be sure if this 96 Accord had the OBD2 set up and not the OBD 1.5.

I was an auto mechanic years ago,and left the business,so I sold alot of stuff I did not need anymore.I never worked on Imports tho,all GM,so as time has gone by,I want to get a new scanner to help me if I ever need it for my imports and etc.

I also dont want just a code reader,I want a scanner with real time data..It would take too long to explain, but when I was fixing cars and using my snap on scanner,I was able to diagnose a random misfire using real time data,to track it down to a single cylinder, which a simple code reading scanner cannot do.

The accords only had obd1 and obd2. There is no OBD1.5 like my friend's 95 grand am. That car is a major PIA to work on.

All 96+ accords are OBD2. The connector is behind the ash tray.

Thanks again! Yeah them OBD hybrids are a PITA...no one seems to have a connector to hook up to them..Im just relieved that this car doesnt have that set up.
